Therapeutic Innovation Australia (TIA) congratulates Professor Katherine Andrews and Associate Professor Danielle Stanisic from Griffith University on the successful funding of their NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Vaccine Adjuvant Discovery and Development (Vaccine-ADD).

Funded at $3 million over five years, Vaccine-ADD is a national program led by Griffith University, with partners including Monash University, The University of Queensland, Sydney University and Westmead Institute for Medical Research, Australian National University, CSIRO and the Sanofi Translational Science Hub.

Vaccine-ADD aims to improve human health in Australia and globally by discovering and developing novel adjuvants to enhance vaccine efficacy and safety and to expand vaccine options for diverse populations, while also contributing to addressing current and future consumer concerns about vaccine availability and barriers and providing strong mentoring for early career researchers and building national capability in vaccine research.

TIA was pleased to support this application, recognising the strong alignment of Vaccine-ADD with TIA’s national capabilities in Biologics & Vaccines and Small Molecule Pharmaceuticals, and providing the Vaccine-ADD researchers with access to TIA’s Pipeline Accelerator scheme.

The Centre will start on the 1^st of February and will be using NCRIS co-funded facilities like Compounds Australia and others as they progress over the five-year program.
